White Pants and Greenways

I'm so happy that I got to shoot this outfit yesterday because it finally stopped raining after what seems to been a three week rain storm! I wore this outfit out to lunch with some friends and then later took these photos on a local greenway! 

Also, does anyone else love bento boxes? There is a local restaurant that only does bento boxes at lunch, and I am obsessed. I chose some spicy t'so chicken and it was amazing. 

College Series: Part 1

Mainly Monday

Kale Salad:

I made this kale salad for dinner last night and I definitely recommend it!

via Gimme Some Oven 

INGREDIENTS: 

• 3 cups chopped fresh kale
• 1 Tbsp. olive oil
• 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
• 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
• pinch of salt and freshly-ground black pepper
• 1/4 cup freshly-grated Parmesan
• 1/4 cup toasted bread crumbs (optional) 
• 
  
• I used roasted pine nuts instead of toast bread crumbs! 

DIRECTIONS:

In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, thyme, salt and pepper.  Add kale and Parmesan (and bread crumbs, if using), and toss until the kale is evenly coated.  Massage the dressing into the kale with your fingers for an extra minute or two until the kale is soft and dark green.  Serve immediately.

National Wear Your Lilly Day: 

I had a blast yesterday on National Wear Your Lilly Day with my friend Ashley! Check out more of the pictures here! 

Not so diet, diet: 

I'm taking the opportunity of my parents being gone this week to make some healthy meals and get back on track with my summer weight loss! This week's meals will be full of vegetables and lean meats!  Also a lot of water, smoothies, and matcha water!

National Wear Your Lilly Day

It's officially summer and of course it's National Wear Your Lilly Day! Also, Happy Father's Day to all fathers and grandfathers out there! My Dad chose to spend the day driving down to some Porsche Club even so I had to find something else to do!  S/O to my Nana for being photographer, she did a lovely job!

Outfit: Grad Party Outfit

It's grad party season, and here in Indiana the Indiana humidity is in full force. So I grabbed my favorite summer dress because it's flowy and made of a light fabric and ran around town for grad parties.

I personally think that t-shirt dresses are the perfect outfit for graduation open houses because they are comfortable and can be dressed up or down!

     My Rho Gam recently graduated and is currently backpacking through Europe with some friends so I am throughly enjoying reading her blog that she set up for the summer! Plus I really miss Europe so I'm living vicariously through her.

     I am obsessed with this tunic dress and I really wish that it cost less!

3//  New blog name?
    I hate to admit it, but I think that I may have grown out of the user name of 'Hoosier State of Prep'. I've found that this blog has turned into more than just preppy things, and that I may grow out of that name. I also regret using 'prep' in the name as well. I have a list of a few new name ideas, but if you have any ideas, please comment them below!

4// New Starbucks Frappuccino flavors

   I don't usually drink the Frappucinnos, but I think that I might try some of the new flavors that are from the (not so) secret menu! The Red Velvet (my favorite type of cake, yum), Lemon Bar, Cupcake, and Caramel Cocoa Cluster Frappucinos are on my list to sample soon. What ones do you think you'll try?

Um, Excuse You?

Summer after freshman year of college = weird questions/statements from people + sassy replies that I wish I could say:

1. "Well are you going back?" (A mom asking me if I was returning to college for sophomore year) Um duh. 
2. "You should become a politician." (Whhhhaaaat? You now perfectly well that I would probably end up having an anxiety attack at some point. Although, I would be more than happy to be on the Republican ticket)
3. "So are you changing your major to business?" (No E, shut up.)
4. "You did such a great job drying the courts today that you might be in charge of it tomorrow?"(Uhhhhh can we get new drying towels then? :) )
5. "So how was graduation?" (I seriously just finished my freshman year of college, where have you been?)
6. "So are you engaged?" (What? I've never even had a boyfriend, please have some chill. You can go ask half of my high school class though)
7. "So how's business school going?" (Um I don't know, I'll let you know when I'm your doctor in 10 years)
8. "How many guys did you hook up with?" (You're in high school; stop being so nosy. Also, to answer your question, none.)
9. "Oh, you're here." (Um yeah, hi, this is my home town. Back off)
10. "You go to Purdue, right?" (Yeah, I just wear a lot of IU/Hoosiers stuff to throw people off)
11. "Oh you're wearing yoga pants...again" (Yes, they are comfortable.)
12. "How crazy was Little 500?" (That's a secret I'll never tell. xoxo, Gossip Girl)

In other news, I'm so glad that I got to witness this beautiful sunset before I went to work the other day!
