Freshly Picked

One of my favorite parts of fall is picking apples at an orchard. So I thought fall break would be the perfect time to head up to one. I love my vest J.Crew Factory (I have a few too many) and I was so excited to pull out my L.L Bean boots for the first time this season. Also, I am obsessed with army green and burgundy this season, so my shirt was perfect for this trip!

Tailgate Season Attire

Consider yourself lucky, I almost named this post "Basic White Girl Attire for a Tailgate". It's officially tailgate season and in different parts of the country, namely the South, that means dresses and wedges. However, here at IU it means high waisted shorts, IU shirts, jerseys, flannels, leggings, and converse. I, for one, am so glad that I go to a school where I can be comfortable for a tailgate and possibly a football game. I've included pictures of myself from past games and tailgates and also some pictures of my sorority sisters and friends.

IU Tailgating Attire 101:

Lesson #1:
 Leggings, Flannels, Scrunchies, and Converse

Lesson #2:
High-Waisted Shorts, Tailgate Shirts, Jerseys, Candy Stripes, Bucket Hats, and Neighbors

Lesson 3:
Dress for colder games, hello long sleeved shirts and vests!

Lesson 4:
Tailgate Tank Part 2 with various poses

Lesson 5:
IU Shirts & Socks, Converse and High Waisted Shorts

Lesson 6:
Keep your friends up and know where your bucket hat is at all times

Huge thanks to my sisters for sending me pictures for this post!

There may not be any school color dresses in sight, but we still manage to look cute and have fun.

Simple Summer Skirt

feat. Eric (photo creds also to Eric)

My Outfit: Skirt: Shop Lauren Berry | Shirt (J. Crew Factory) | Shoes | Bracelet | Watch

I love this skirt that I purchased from Shop Lauren Berry, an Etsy store belonging to Pointer Prep aka Lauren. It's very comfortable and is perfect for a sunny, summer day. Check out her Etsy store to see her array of skirt choices! I also purchased a seersucker one, but I haven't had a chance to style it yet!

This summer has been a great one. Hoosier State of Prep has grown this summer thanks to friends like Eric that are willing to take pictures for blog posts like this. I can't wait for what is to come for Hoosier State of Prep this fall and I'm definitely looking forward to this blog's first birthday (tune in during the month of October).

Palm Print

So I decided to join the palm print craze and buy two palm print rompers (on clearance) from Old Navy! Here is how I styled them:

wristlet (similar) | shoes

I loved wearing these rompers this weekend! They were super easy to style and throw on while on the go while I was down in Indy for the Luke Bryan concert. Below I've linked these rompers and other palm print pieces that I'm obsessed with!

Do you guys have any print obsessions at the moment?

OOTD: Get Nauti

=

Tank | Skirt | Bracelet | Watch | Necklace (similar) | Wedges

I went out to lunch today with some of my closest friends and through together some of the clothes that I purchased yesterday! I think this outfit is now one of my favorites. The navy stripes and comfortable skirt are perfect for a light, summer outfit. Plus, this t-shirt is so comfortable!

We The People Like To Party

The Fourth of July is a huge celebration in my neighborhood and it's my favorite holiday. Not only are we celebrating an important part of American history, but we are also with all of our friends and family to have a fun time.

My neighborhood has a parade every year (#damnparade2015) and it's full of tacky and tasteless floats along with firetrucks, bagpipers, and drunk people. The whole neighborhood basically parties for three days beginning on July 3rd and continuing until the 5th.

We also have a theme each 4th complete with a t-shirt. This year's theme was 'Hollyhood' because a movie was recently filmed in our neighborhood. We also call our neighborhood "The Hood" because it doesn't actually have a name.

This weekend is huge part of why I love summer. I had a great weekend with friends! Thanks Ashley, Merit, and Eric for coming over on the Fourth!
